1E sells power-saving software that switches off redundant computers.
In this interview (which is poorly lit, sorry) Sumir Karayi, CEO of 1E, explains how companies are wasting electricity with their IT equipment. He says Verizon is saving half-a-million dollars a year by managing power consumption properly…
He plugs his products quite a lot. But that’s what the PRs always teach these people. Greenbang’s sure he won’t be the last…

This is a question that has bugged me too! Paper or energy? After scrattching my head i desided to do a little research. Apparently air hand dryers have approximatly half the impact on the environment than paper towels. Cloth towels are the Anti-Christ apparently.

I’m not an expert on hand driers but I’ve seen a combo machine that uses electricity and hands out paper towels. The sophisticated Hong Kong people have electronic paper towel dispensers which I would say adds more to the carbon emission debate.
You could always go to Wembley Stadium where they have super charged hand driers which blows out air faster than you can sneeze. It drys your hands completely in 5 seconds. Again I am no expert, just an observer.
