E.ON plans nine-turbine wind farm near Knottingley

1045051_windmillsLocal residents are being invited to hear more about E.ON’s plans for a new onshore wind farm near Knottingley at two exhibitions to be held in Knottingley and Leeds on 27 and 28 May.

The proposed Ferrybridge wind farm would feature up to nine turbines with a generation capacity of between 18 and 22.5 megawatts.

“We think this is an excellent location for a wind farm and want to share our views and plans with local residents,” said Liz Ambrose, project developer for Ferrybridge. “We really would like anybody living within the vicinity to come along and talk to the project team about the site and our plans.”

E.ON currently operates 21 wind farms from Cornwall to Northern Ireland, and has 1,300 megawatts of renewable energy capacity under development.
